Wedding fever
Looking for something a little
unique for your wedding? Look no
further than the
Royal College of
Physicians of Edinburgh
(RCPE), right
in the city’s heart. Evoking the
heyday of its elegant surroundings
in the New Town, the stylish
Victorian and Georgian rooms are filled with stunning
original architectural features, and offer a wide range of
flexible spaces to use as the perfect setting for an
unforgettable wedding for up to 150 guests.
Exchange your vows in the stately New Library, have your
photographs taken outside (weather permitting!) in the
courtyard Physic Garden or in nearby Queen Street Gardens,
raise your champagne glasses in the bright and genteel
Cullen Suite, and then celebrate with a ceilidh late into the
night in the grandeur of the Great Hall. The experienced
team of event coordinators and approved caterers will make
it easy for you every step of the way – no need for wedding
planning hot and cold chills!
A la mode
Nestled in the Bathgate Hills near Linlithgow, centrally
located between Glasgow and Edinburgh, lies
The Vu
–
a spectacular contemporary wedding space.
Two buildings make up this truly magical venue. Water
Lily extends out onto Ballencrieff Reservoir, and its full-
height windows provide stunning panoramic views
across the water and over Central Scotland. The
equally spectacular Oasis Suite is a modern building,
also with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a dramatic
vaulted ceiling. Both spaces benefit from a boudoir for
the couple – a small room designed to offer you a
quiet area in which to relax and prepare and, if
required, somewhere to change for the evening.
The Vu also offers a selection of executive wedding cars
to ensure you arrive in style; while afterwards,
luxurious Canadian log cabins provide a truly unique
and breathtaking location to spend your first night as
a married couple.

Scottish splendour
Real character
A wedding venue isn’t
complete without a
colourful history, and the
Hotel du Vin Edinburgh
has just that. The characterful building has lived through
many guises since it was built in 1743, changing from
poorhouse to asylum to science lab, to its glamorous
reinvention as a boutique hotel, where it now features two
quirky private function rooms just perfect for wedding
celebrations.
The Burke & Hare, adorned with a full wall mural and many
other interesting original artworks, has space for 36 people,
while for smaller parties, Bedlam is an intimate room with a
round table for ten beneath the magnificent original domed
ceiling. Bedlam has access to a sheltered courtyard, which can
offer the perfect setting for photographs.
And when you’re all partied out? You and your guests can then
stay overnight in one of the 47 distinctive bedrooms.
