Jackie and Joanna
our reception was the most beautiful i have ever seen.
We rented out the Masonic Mansion in Racine, Wisconsin.
Joanna had a vision and just went with it, and it surpassed
even her expectations. it was fantastic. i didn’t get to see it
during set-up, but when i got there i was blown away. every
centrepiece and the flower wall were handmade by my wife.
She has such an eye for detail and a God-given talent for
these things – i keep telling her to go into business!
My grandmother told us, ‘i have been to a lot of
weddings and this was by far the most beautiful i have ever
seen.’ everyone was so surprised and amazed by how
everything turned out – from the wedding ceremony and the
horse drawn carriage, to the reception. We had so many
compliments that i can’t even begin to remember them all. it
was just a magical day. Some liked the ceremony most, others
liked the horse-drawn carriage, but the big wow factor was
the reception! it was simply stunning.
on the day, i was so scared that i was going to pass out. i
was completely fine up until my dad and grandfather grabbed
my arms to walk me down the aisle. My dad was having a
good time, chuckling at me all the way down the aisle
because i was freaking out a little. other than that, i just
enjoyed the day and had a blast. everything fell into place
flawlessly for us, largely due to my aunt Sylvia. She is our rock
– she had things going so smoothly for us and took on the
brunt of anything tricky, sorting it out with ease and grace.
The ceremony, pictures and definitely the first dance
were the high points of our wedding for me – i got to marry
my best friend! it was amazing. Joanna loved it all, but her
absolute favourite part was being able to hear our vows to
each other – and the horse-drawn carriage. This is something
we both dreamed of, and to see everything come together so
beautifully was amazing.
our tips to other couples are don’t panic, and start buying
and planning early. The earlier you buy the things for your
wedding, the less stressed you will be at crunch time. if you
have a fear of public speaking, like i do, then don’t focus on
anyone or anything but your bride or groom. it truly does help.
