Andrew And Yuri
spent many special times together. The
cake was so stunning that we didn’t
want to cut it! we also ordered gluten-
free cupcakes, decorated with a Spanish
flag, a welsh flag for Andrew, and
Olympic rings as Andrew worked for
the Olympics. A chocolate fountain
started white, until Andrew turned it
pink! And we covered the dips with
fuchsia edible glitter.
All the guests who stayed with us at
our reception hotel received a welcome
pampering pack from us, with Molton
Brown toiletries and other personal
items. The idea was to make every guest
feel as welcome as possible and also to
express our gratitude for sharing that
special day with us – a little touch of
love. At the end of the party we had
arranged for hangover packs to be
delivered to each room. For those who
needed help a er the celebration there
were painkillers, water, chocolate and
coffee – but also a bottle of champagne
for those who wanted to party on!
we chose the Crowne Plaza
docklands as our venue because it
offered the features we were looking for
– a contemporary setting located in one
of the most beautiful areas in London.
The staff were superb and they made
our day even more special.
Our wedding day was simply
gorgeous. it was a sunny warm day with
a blue sky and plenty of fresh air.
we bought matching Tom Baker suits
– modern and quite funky – and wore
them with fuchsia cravats and different
shirts; Andrew’s was blue (ex rAF) and
mine was white. we stuck ‘i do’ glitter
letters to the soles of our shoes –
captured by our photographer at the
crucial moment!
we decided long before the wedding
that the ceremony offered by the
registrar was not personalised enough. it
didn't allow us to express our religious
beliefs and our conviction that love is
the most precious gi of all and comes
from God. So we shortened the civil part
to the minimum necessary to comply
with legal requirements and arranged
for a blessing to happen immediately
a er. A er a long search, we came
across Bishop Jonathan Blake, who was
happy to organise a blessing for us a er
we met with him and shared our story.

make every guest
feel as welcome
