12 and your friends will fight for them!) If you need more,
Bre and Graham also have an arrangement with some local
guesthouses – they’ll even organise lifts for your guests.
Pentre Mawr has its own marquee and amenities, so
there’s no need to hire anything in. There are ground floor
rooms suitable for the oldies, and while it’s a couple-only
place when they haven’t a wedding on, children are very
welcome when you take the place exclusively. Pets are also
made most welcome – one couple are even bringing their
horse to the ceremony, as there is stabling available at Pentre.
On the subject of pets, the resident shetland ponies
are real characters. Bre is learning to drive them; she hopes
to be able to drive the happy couple from the walled
garden to the marquee in the grade two-listed stable yard
after the ceremony – a real photo opportunity! The
resident owl, Frank, is always a welcome visitor and helps
to keep the guests entertained.
So where do you Start?
A phone call’s always a good place – chatty Bre will go
through lots of options with you on the phone. They have a
list of what she calls their ‘perfect partners’ and they stress
that while they only recommend suppliers they have
experience with, they are more than happy for you to source
your own too. It can be quite overwhelming arranging
everything – especially if you are travelling from a distance –
so if you need it, Bre is quite happy to hold your hand and
guide you through the process of ticking everything off to
make sure that you have a day to remember.
There really is no limit to the kind of wedding day you
can create for yourself – and it all begins with your choice
of venue. If you want to try something a little more o eat,
there’s an African safari tent available – but you can also
have your ceremony in the walled garden during the
summer months, or in the beautiful long gallery. Or for a
combination of the two, you can have your ceremony in
one of the reception rooms in the main house and stay in a
safari lodge (with a private hot tub!) on your wedding night.
At Pentre Mawr, there is no limit to your imagination.
