MOVE
We weren’t natural movers, but Sam made the
process easy. She filmed some of our practces too so
we could watch ourselves at home – through our
fingers at first – and learn.
We were living in a cotage in the Cotswolds at the
tme and even if we had no walls and no furniture, the
footprint of the entre house wouldn’t have given us
enough space to perform our dance. Luckily the Gothic
mansion we were getng married in was just a field
away, and the staff were great fun. They let us use the
ballroom as o en as we wanted to rehearse.
In a weird way that made it even more special as
the staff knew we were doing a ‘first dance’. On the
night of our wedding word had gone round to every
member of the team and before we took to the floor,
all of the staff came to line the floor, to clap and
cheer and watch what – they later admited – they’d
only spied through keyholes as we practsed. It was
magical for us.
‘...everymoment we
spent learning and
practising our dance
were times when
Sacha and I were truly
together, spending
quality time laughing.’
