Fairytale romance
These classically romantic venues are
ideal for your fairytale wedding...
Seated in beauty
A mere 20 minutes from
the centre of Edinburgh,
the grounds of
Melville
Castle
were at one time a
favoured hunting place for
Mary Queen of Scots. Now
the castle has been carefully restored
and brought back to life by the Hay
family, creating a magical setting for
your civil partnership. Set within 50
acres of magnificent grounds, you
have the option to take exclusive use
of the castle for a whole weekend – or just the big day itself.
The castle has seven public spaces of various styles and sizes,
from the elegant ballroom for up to 100 guests, to several
more intimate rooms. The rooms are south facing, making
them light and bright, and the grounds are great for
photographs. Their wedding breakfasts can cater for 80
guests, with an option for an additional 40 evening guests to
join the celebrations. A heated marquee will also be available
from spring 2013 for up to 200 guests seated – spoiled for
choice!

Be enchanted
Surrounded by beautiful Cheshire landscape,
Peckforton Castle
is
perched majestically atop a hill, every bit the fairytale. It was
converted into a luxury hotel by the Naylor family – but was
originally built in the 19th Century, designed in the gothic style
popular during the period. Used in the 1970s and 1980s as the
setting of several films and TV programmes, the castle’s colourful
history only adds to its charm.
Offering delicious, award-winning food and drink to you and you guests – as well as
impeccable service – the castle provides a number of packages and suites to
accommodate from 10 to 170 guests. Overnight guests will be able to take respite
in their sumptuous bedrooms, and make use of the Tranquility spa for a bit of
pampering – or try the falconry experience for those a little more daring. Let your
imagination take flight!
