FAR-OUT FASHION
The ’60s is back in swing and has been revamped by the best
designers to bring to the table fresh approaches to this ultra-
fem decade.
GUCCI
went with knee-high boots and A-line
dresses in pale pinks, blues, mustard yellows and even
leopard print – all paired with plenty (and we mean plenty)
of jewels and crystal embellishments, combining the
traditional ’60s with a 2014 twist. Also found in their
collection were the traditional big buttons, belted waists and
small collars. Groovy!
MIUMIU
followed suit with pastels and A-lines,
but raised the bar by taking traditionally boring,
practical clothing and blending it with ’60s cuts,
modern prints and materials. Here we saw quilted
nylon skirts, jackets and dresses with subtle
geometric detail. We also saw coloured translucent
rain macs in the collection – paired with the quilted
nylon, it really made the texture contrast pop!
DREAM A LITTLE DREAM
Whether it’s SnowWhite, Cinderella or Little Red
Riding Hood – fantasy fairytales are a beautiful
theme this season and we think it’s the perfect
trend for an autumn/winter wedding. Let your
imagination run free!
VALENTINO
is the fantasy hero this autumn,
showcasing paisley lace, full-length sheer and
flowing chiffon in powdery blues, creams and
black. Dresses that would bring the inner-child
out of any fashion lover were full length and
embellished with a variety of flowers, plants,
exotic birds and butterflies creeping their way
up magnificent billowing skirts.
