We met in Munich, where we were
both working at the me, and it was a
bit of a whirlwind romance. The
ques on was popped within the first
month, though we did not formally get
engaged un l six months later when we
bought rings. It was about 18 months
later, in August 2010, that we had the
civil partnership.
Both of us decided we wanted a scottish wedding with
kilts and ceilidhs, and thought it would be wonderful to have
it in a castle. In the last 20 years the wedding industry
around the scottish castles of the Borders and lothians has
really taken off and there are a lot to choose from. our
attention was drawn specifically to Fenton tower.
Douglas’ parents live very close to it, and he can
remember it from his youth when it was a ruin. We had both
