W
e met in 2004 while working together at
Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park, and a er many
years of living together I proposed to Jo in 2010.
The proposal took place by the lake at Center Parcs Longleat,
a place that we both love and have visited a number of mes.
We made the decision to enter into a civil partnership in
2011 and decided that we wanted to have a private ceremony
with just two friends as witnesses and then to have a party
a erwards to celebrate with all of our friends and family. We
actually announced the fact that we had had a civil
partnership to our friends via their Christmas cards that year!
We knew that if we were going to have a party to
celebrate we wanted our guests to feel that they were going to
a wedding recep on, and not just another party. We wanted
to give us all a special place to enjoy this great occasion.
We chose Broomhill art Hotel because of its magical,
mysterious feel and the warmth we felt when we first went
there to plan our event. We wanted a wow factor, and we
thought the venue gave exactly that. We also wanted food that
our guests would remember for being different than your
average wedding buffet, and we knew that Broomhill would
deliver on the menu.
For decora on, we wanted to keep it simple and for it to
be a reflec on of us as people. It was also important to take
