WeLcome!
Well here we are – the first edi on for 2014,
celebra ng our biggest issue ever and the
magazine is s ll going from strength to strength. I
can only THANK YOU all for helping our magazine
become the best in the UK for same-sex couples
planning their special day.
Talking about special days… wow, it’s going to be a rocking 2014! Same-sex marriage
comes into play in March, with Scotland following later in the year, and to conclude
parliament will finally talk about civil partnerships. We can only hope they retain this as
an op on, but for both same and opposite sex couples. We have a long way to go and will
need your help really soon – read about this in more detail in the last edi on of the year.
Right, let’s get to it! In this issue we speak to Mark Tiller fromWestminster Register
Office. Westminster has played a key part in top des na ons to hold your civil
partnership, figh ng Brighton every year for the number one place and retaining its first
place posi on for London. Find out why on page 6.
As always, your feedback tells us how much you love to read real life stories and in this
edi on we have plenty – from Richard and Michael’s wedding at the stunning Brighton
Pavilion, and Pam and Jo taking the laid-back approach with their in mate affair, to the
spectacular ‘40 shades of green’ inspira onal St Patrick’s Day wedding with John and
Michael. Such amazing couples offering you an insight into their special day.
We also look to the runways for the latest spring fashion trends, take some top wedding
budget boos ng ps from Damian at The London Kitchen, and whip up some
mouth-watering spring recipes with Velma from Pink Dutch Pot.
One thing is for sure, it’s a packed edi on and going to be
one packed 2014 – including a longer list of the UK’s
longest running and official Gay Wedding Shows. I truly
hope you enjoy this edi on and hope to see you at a
show very soon!
