Michael and RichaRd
in 2007
we met each other for the first time
at a eurovision Song contest party, organised by friends. Very
soon after, i started dating Michael and moved into his house
the same year. We did a lot of travelling, visited museums
and theatres, and did some home improvements. We also
attended four weddings and one civil partnership ceremony
over a period of one and a half years – people started asking
us whether we would tie the knot, and we said that we’d be
interested in doing it one day.
in September 2010, i organised a special birthday party
for Michael in Brighton. halfway through the evening he made
a speech thanking everybody for attending his party, and
straight after that he proposed to me in front of 60 guests!
i was absolutely lost for words. after a few seconds i
realised what Michael had asked me and i answered, ‘Yes, i
do!’ all the guests were thrilled, and so were we. after the
proposal, the party really kicked off – a birthday party and
an engagement party in one!
We started planning our wedding shortly after Michael’s
birthday party, and we decided on a palace of a venue – the
exotic and flamboyant Royal Pavilion in Brighton, once home
