Fashion
HEAD, SHOULDERS, KNEES AND TOES
Whether you’re a swinging ’50s fashion fan, or going for
an ’80s revival – one of the top trends for this spring is
shoulder exposure.
Cut-out shoulder shirts, off-the-shoulder tops or
completely strapless dresses. This is a great style to get
you in the mood for the summer, but still practical for
the fresh spring weather.
While
Alexander Wang
sent his girls down the
catwalk in white sculptured off-the-shoulder dresses,
Chanel
gave a nod to the trend with the single
shouldered, black and white knitted vest.
PINK, PINK, PINK!
Here at
PinkWeddings Magazine
we’re
ecstatic, because not only is this our
favourite colour, it appears top
designers and trendsetters think so too
this season!
Some might think pink is a bit of a
stereotypical colour for a wedding day,
but it’s time to pull away from the
crowd! With so many beautiful shades
and tones to choose from, who says
you have to do typical pink? There’s a
pink for everyone – from fuchsia and
neon to bubblegum and candyfloss,
or why not try a deeper, dustier
shade for the more mature take on
this wonderfully liberating colour.
Pretty much every designer
took on pink this season and
each with stunning
individuality. Most notably,
Temperley London
mixed
their pink with pleating
to create a double
whammy explosion
of on-trend
fabulousness.
MATCH AND MATCH
Think
Legally Blonde
,
sorority girls and 1950s
bridge club. Long gone are
the days of throwing
together all manner of
eclectic fabrics and patterns
because now is the time to
embrace order, clarity and
uniformed dressing. Look out for
shoes, bags and dresses all made
in the same fabrics, and you pet-
lovers out there can even find
matching doggy coats. Adorable!
Emilia Wickstead
used a shock
factor pink and orange striped material
for her African influenced summer
dress and matching shoes – a real
spring stunner to stand out from
the crowd.
This is the perfect look for
those attending a wedding who
want to go the extra glam-
mile and show off their
fashion forward thinking.

Pleating not only brings to
life a dull skirt or a plain
over-starched blouse, it
gives a subtle nod to the
craftsmanship and creativity
of the fashion designers and
creators around the world,
past and present.
