the blessing, the speeches, and the love
and care that prevailed throughout. we
saw people crying for joy and people
who had never met each other
becoming the best of friends by the end
of the night. we loved it that they loved
it. Our very dear friend di, who hadn’t
cried in ten years, was brought to tears
during the blessing. it was like opening
the floodgates of heaven!
The speeches were phenomenal and
the party, until 1am, was so enjoyable.
Our photographer, Jo richards, set up a
booth in the hotel hall and got
everybody to take crazy pictures. we
hired a caricaturist for a bit of fun and he
was amazing – it was a real icebreaker.
Our friend A. Briggs, who is generally a
very shy and quiet guy, became a diva
and made his table feel the music in his
veins. Andrew’s daughter gave a loving
speech that showed how much she was
in acceptance of our love. My daughter
Oriana, whom we didn’t expect to make
the wedding, came as a surprise. The day
was just brilliant and we loved all of it.
My advice to other couples planning
their day is to make it very personal.
Make sure that you choose all the little
details and don’t leave anything to
happen by chance. Get a good
photographer to document that
wonderful day, a er all the effort you’ve
put in making your day unforgettable.
Our photographer was brilliant and
made everyone feel at ease, taking
natural pictures that reflected the love
and fun we had on the day. we wanted
them to be proof of a celebration of
love, but when we look at them now, we
also relive every single detail and more
importantly the joy we had.
Finally, don’t forget to enjoy the day.
it will never come back!
