have made a name for themselves in
Cornwall for their classy shabby chic weddings. So how do they
combine the old with the new to such great effect?
Firstly their venue sets the scene perfectly. Nestling in a
private valley, the 200-year-old Cornish stone barn has exposed
brick feature walls, overhead beaming and oak panelled flooring.
Within these rustic, working-farm surroundings they have
used reclaimed materials and handcrafted décor to create a
nostalgic feel. Huge oak doors with worn and cracked paint have
become table planning stands and picture boards, breaking up
the large exposed walls in the building with artistic touches.
Locally crafted furniture has been given a hand-painted finish,
blending contemporary comfort with an unpolished, homely feel.
Wood and flowers from the surrounding fields become
wedding signs and centrepieces on long oak dinner tables set for
a huge traditional family meal. With the help of their chef they
blend hearty meals such as roast dinners with quirky
presentation, odd crockery and cutlery, while elegant bunting
and flickering tealights bring artistry to the table and add a
touch of magic to the scene.
So how can you bring your own shabby chic wedding to life?
