From the depths of disastrous relationships surfaced a dream
partnership. Michael tells us how his future with Kieran became
picture perfect on the beautiful island of Cephalonia

e met as a result of the combined an cs
of our ex-partners. We had both just
come out of very similar, and fairly
disastrous, rela onships and having
been through very similar experiences,
we immediately became good friends. We got together just a
few months later and it felt very much like we were des ned
to meet each other.
i think that we both realised fairly early on that we’d found
‘the one’. What we had together was very special and unique –
something that we wanted to last forever. Making a formal
commitment to each other seemed a very natural next stage in
our rela onship. We’d been together just over three years

when kieran asked the ques on, and i immediately said yes!
during our first holiday together to Cephalonia, we’d
discovered the beau ful village of Fiskardo and both fell
totally in love with it. There’s something very magical about
that part of the island and we had always said that if we got
married we wanted it to be there. as civil partnerships are
not yet legally recognised in Greece we searched online for
someone who could arrange an exchange of vows and found
rachael at Cephalonia Concierge.
We met up with rachael and kos s on our next visit to
the island and discussed some op ons for our ceremony,
which we were planning for the following year. The original
plan was to have about 15 to 20 of our close friends and
