reference points such as vintage cars and distinctive
architecture to illustrate the streets of cities across the world,
where the blazing sunlight sharpens the shadows and
intensifies the rich, bright colours.
‘My paintings reflect a positive view of life,’ he says. ‘I hope that
like a good book, they have a narrative that to some degree you
can get lost in.’ Jeremy’s prints, featuring backstreet Havana,
Venice, Paris, New York and Nice start at £145 (original pieces
are also available).

Biddy Hodgkinson
– artist and alchemist – uses plant matter to create her
pigments. She takes petals, peelings and woody flower stems
and treats themwith acids to deliberately eat away swathes
of colour, creating intriguing, sculptural and tactile surfaces
on the canvas.
Her ‘paintings’ are inspired by close observations of life cycles
and she has a particular fascination with the luminosity that
exists in decay and the way it can present unexpected and
often startlingly beautiful patterns.

Aviva uses a limited palette of inks and watercolour to give her
paintings a timeless quality, reminiscent of the Old Masters. ‘Each
dog portrait is totally unique. Focusing on the angle of the head
or the expression in the eyes helps me convey all the character and
personality of a beloved pet.’ Prices start at £275 for an A4
unframed painting (gift vouchers are available) and each piece of
work takes between three and five weeks to complete.
