Every year from May Day right through to late
September, most weekends see the Brocket Hall
Estateclouded inconfetti.Glamorous, historicand full
of intrigue, it’snot difficult toseewhy thisenchanting
country estate in Hertfordshire is such a popular
choice for private celebrations throughout the year.
The Brocket Hall Estate houses not one, not two but
three beautiful and unique wedding venues on site, suitable
for all seasons. Brocket Hall itself – the grand yet elegant 18th
Century Stately Home, the Golf Club – a traditional and
relaxed venue complete with picturesque views across the
Estate, and the charming Auberge du Lac – Hertfordshire’s
only Michelin Star restaurant. Each supplying their own
character and “wow” factor, these distinct locations offer an
extensive choice of rooms fitting the size and scale of almost
every guest-list.
For those who dream of a magnificent Ballroom and
long, sweeping staircase – Brocket Hall provides just that and
can be hired totally and exclusively by wedding couples. Civil
ceremonies can be held in the Boardroom, accommodating a
maximum of 150 guests, or for smaller services, the beautiful
Library seats 50, and provides magnificent views across the
Estate.
The Wedding Breakfast is traditionally served in the
Ballroom, while guests gaze at the beautiful hand painted
ceiling depicting the signs of the Zodiac. The Boardroom can
be quickly turned around to make way for a disco, allowing
guests to party late into the night, and overnight
accommodation in one of Brocket Hall’s 30 luxurious en-suite
bedrooms rounds off a perfect day.
The Golf Club at Brocket Hall provides a more traditional
and relaxed atmosphere, with civil ceremonies and wedding
receptions both being held in the magnificent Oak Room. A
vast room filled with natural light, this oak-beamed vision
can comfortably seat 120 guests and provides panoramic
views across the estate. To end such a special day, overnight
accommodation is available in the converted stable block,
Melbourne Lodge.
Last but by no means least, Auberge du Lac, once the
Estate's hunting lodge and now an internationally acclaimed
Michelin Star restaurant, is most definitely a wedding venue
for the admirers of fine cuisine. Beautifully elegant, Auberge
du Lac sits on the banks of the Broadwater Lake and set
amongst 543 acres of tranquillity, is ideal for smaller,
sophisticated weddings.
Capable of seating 60 guests for a civil ceremony, the
nuptials are held under the vaulted ceiling of the restaurant’s
alcove. 60 guests can also be accommodated for a wedding
breakfast and a total of 100 for evening entertainment.
For weddings booked and held before 31st March 2012,
Auberge du Lac are offering 50% off the venue fee. For more
