The Public Health department at Ealing is a progressive multi-disciplinary team committed to improving health and
tackling inequalities in Ealing. The Directorate’s key role is to protect and improve lifelong health and wellbeing in
Ealing, by commissioning evidence based services and empowering people to make healthier choices.
Public Health has formally transferred from the NHS to Ealing Council from 1 April 2013. The role of Head
of Drug and Alcohol Strategy will lead a coordinated approach to reducing harms associated with substance
misuse across the borough of Ealing and promote recovery.
About you:
You will have extensive experience in commissioning and be able to demonstrate the ability to combine a
rigorous approach to performance management with the ability to take a strategic overview of the service
and how it relates to the wider health and social care system.

Drug Worker (Recovery Broker)
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
Salary Scale: NJC 22-28 depending on experience (£19,817 - £23,945)
Location: Warmley, South Gloucestershire
DHI South Gloucestershire are looking for a full time,
permanent Drug Worker (Recovery Broker) to join their team.
The role entails facilitating exciting group work sessions,
motivational one-to-one key working with mind mapping,
comprehensive assessments and recovery planning. The role
also includes working in partnership with GPs to provide
substitute prescribing for appropriate clients with substance
misuse issues, with a focus on their recovery and referring to
detox and other relevant agencies. The successful post holder
must have their own transport and have a willingness to work
flexibly including evenings and weekends.
Alcohol Worker (Recovery Broker)

alcohol team. The role entails facilitating exciting group work
sessions, motivational one-to-one key working with mind
mapping, comprehensive assessments and recovery
planning. The successful post holder may be recovery
focused and flexible. The post may contain some evening
and weekend work.
